by William Shakespeare. October 2026

You are very warmly invited to the casting workshops for Alton Fringe Theatre's production of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.t

You are welcome to attend one or both workshops. Whilst both workshops will have the same content, you may want to attend the second workshop to try something you didn't get the opportunity for in the first workshop. I hope the workshops will be fun, with plenty of scope to experiment and try things out. If you know of anyone else who may be interested, please draw their attention to this message.

Venue: Alton Community Centre, Amery Street, Alton, GU34 1HN

Dates:

  • Tuesday 24th February. 7.30 - 9.30pm (Main Hall)
  • Saturday 28th February 10am - 12 noon (Garden Room)

Just a few notes…
You do not need to prepare any scripted pieces beforehand.
The workshops will involve single, two handed and small ensemble work.
The workshops are also an opportunity to find out more about the production.
Even if you are not considering an acting role, please come along and take part. There are opportunities for backstage roles and the all important FOH, advertising and general support needed to get the production to the stage.
Casting will be done on a gender blind basis.
For specific parts of the production, I intend to incorporate the methods developed by Frantic Assembly. More details on this at the workshops.
There are plans for live original music for the production.
